CONFERENCE VENUE

The Conference will be held on board a comfortable 4-deck boat cruising from Nizhny Novgorod to St.-Petersburg along the Volga river and further along the fascinating lakes of the Russian North (the White Lake, Onega, and Ladoga). The old Russian towns of Kostroma and Yaroslavl, unique ensembles of Kizhi and Valaam are among the cruise shots. This route will give a unique opportunity for many participants to get familiar with both, the Russian history and nature.

Some of the pictures were made by participants of the International Symposium

(Sept. 6-12, 2003)
